Dr. Alan Greenberg Board Certified Cosmetic Surgeon – Body, Breast and Extremity Cosmetic Surgery
Dr. Alan Greenberg has been welcomed as a diplomate of the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery, (ABCS) the only board dedicated exclusively to excellence in cosmetic surgery. Members must demonstrate excellence in surgical skill, aesthetics and patient care as well as exceptional moral character. After rigorous testing and background checks, Dr. Greenberg was board-certified in body, breast and extremity cosmetic surgery.
The American Board of Cosmetic Surgery has high standards
The American Board of Cosmetic Surgery requires that physicians demonstrate the highest standards of training, knowledge and expertise in cosmetic surgery while promoting a safe and ethical practice. It is the only certifying board that exclusively tests a surgeon’s knowledge and experience in cosmetic surgery. The ABCS board certification is reserved for extraordinary surgeons who:
- Already possess at least one recognized board certificate
- Complete comprehensive fellowship training in cosmetic surgery or prior to 2015 had performed over 1000 cosmetic procedures
- Pass rigorous written and oral exams
Surgical facility accreditation also required
In addition to expertise in cosmetic surgery, all American Board of Cosmetic Surgery diplomates must practice in an accredited surgical facility, which may include hospitals, outpatient surgical facilities and private surgery suites that are adjacent to the surgeon’s clinical offices. The facility must offer the following:
- Qualified, trained and experienced support staff
- A fully qualified anesthesiologist or anesthetist
- A clean, fully equipped operating room
- Adequate personnel and equipment to respond to emergency situations
