Improve skin elasticity with Morpheus8 Body
Skin is the body’s largest organ. It loses its elasticity over time due to sun damage, aging, weight fluctuations and genetics. As the skin stretches, it sags and reveals underlying flaws. The face will show wrinkles and lines. Problems with skin elasticity may expose the unevenness of cellulite and fat deposits. Alan Greenberg MD, a Frisco cosmetic surgeon, offers the Morpheus8 Body skin tightening treatment for skin, tissue and collagen remodeling. This treatment can improve the skin’s appearance and reduce several irregularities.
- Droopy necks
- Lumpy abdomens
- Stretch marks
- Cottage cheese thighs
- Dimpled buttocks
- Saggy upper arms
Morpheus8 Body technology
This technology can effectively treat large surface areas that benefit from increased skin elasticity. The handpiece has 40 thin gold-coated microneedles that deliver radiofrequency (RF) energy to the layer of adipose tissue (fat) between the skin and muscle.
While it destroys superficial fat cells, it also stimulates the production of collagen and elastin to tighten skin. The skin responds to micro-needling by initiating a healing process that evens skin tone and makes it brighter and younger looking. Morpheus8 is the first FDA-cleared handpiece to provide deep 8mm subdermal adipose tissue remodeling.
Cellulite and skin elasticity
While recommended, diet and exercise alone cannot address some of the issues caused by lax skin. For example, cellulite on the thighs and abdomen is a common problem in women.
Fibrous bands connect the skin to the muscle. Over time, normal fat will escape through the bands and the attached skin will dimple. The RF energy that bursts from the treatment device targets the tissue below the skin. The body’s healing response then increases skin elasticity, which smooths over imperfections.
What to expect
Our Frisco cosmetic surgeon provides minimally invasive Morpheus8 aesthetic treatment in our clinic. Depending on the size of the targeted area, patients may require three or more treatments for long-lasting results.
To keep patients comfortable during the procedure, we use either a compounded numbing cream or tumescent “awake” anesthesia. Pro-Nox™ nitrous gas is also available for patients who become anxious during medical procedures.
Afterward, patients should avoid sun exposure and apply a moisturizer to the treated area. The results are gradual and usually appear in three to four weeks with continued improvement in skin elasticity over three months.
